DESCRIPTION:
The feel of the silk is still soft and luxurious. The design is a flowing embroidery design depicting a Chrysanthemum, a flowing river, and a Temple.
Accent colors are green, white, and gold. Chrysanthemums often represent happiness, joy, and longevity; A flowing river is often used to represent a path or a way into or out off; A temple frequently represents sanctuary, purity, blessings, favoring the spiritual over the material.
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS:
The width at the top of the shoulder from seam to seam: 26"
The sleeve drop from shoulder seam to sleeve hem: 13" (This does NOT include any drop from your shoulder to the sleeve seam as this will vary with each individual)
The length at the back from the collar seam to bottom of hem: 50.5"
The circumference from left front opening around the back to right front opening: 60"
SIZE:
The Kimono sleeves are designed with a" drop shoulder" seam. A Kimono can be worn open over jeans, slacks, leggings, a long or short dress or as a robe with the sash.
TO DETERMINE IF IT WILL FIT:
A) MEASURE:
Around your body at the widest place (waist, hip or chest)
Your shoulder across your back from arm to arm
Your arm length from top of shoulder to wrist
Your height from the bottom of your neck to the floor (without shoes)
B) Compare:
these measurements with a coat or robe you are comfortable wearing. Take into consideration how you want to wear the Kimono.
CONDITION:
I HAVE HAD THE KIMONO PROFESSIONALLY DRY CLEANED
GOOD to FAIR
Although the material is still luxurious, it has several spots on the outside. The largest are right at the middle on the right side in front. There are a number spots on the middle area inside and the hem. These don't show up well in the photos, but you will see them if you use the magnification option. There is a frayed hole inside about 1" L and a few other tiny holes.
When worn open the imperfections are not as noticeable, but the best use for this Kimono might be as a wall hanging or a display or staging piece. It could also be a unique party costume or a great wardrobe piece for a school or theater play. Or pamper yourself with the luxurious feel of silk around the house.
CARE:
If the Kimono wrinkles the best way to remove is by steaming. Keep in mind this is a delicate vintage silk with many tiny threads that make up the entire design. If you want to iron it set the temperature to delicate or the lowest temperature.
Place on the ironing board with a soft, clean piece of cotton between the area that needs ironing and the iron.
