This vintage Japanese man's kimono is a casual version that might have been worn to an informal event such as a performance or informal reception.
The silk is a dark greenish-brown with a thin black pinstripe. It's a soft silk, comfy to wear. Nice pieced lining - it's mostly a dark indigo silk but some pieces are a lighter shade of blue.
There are three main differences between traditional kimono made for men and women:
-Men's kimono have no opening under the arm like women's kimono do, creating a more square sleeve.
-Men's kimono are shorter so there is no extra fabric to fold over at the waist.
-Men's kimono are single color or have a very small woven or printed pattern.
